Barnet 1-2 Arsenal
July 21, 2008
Ahh, ’tis the season. It’s still muggy and hot, but the football has begun. And, keeping in form, Arsenal began the Friendly season with a 1-2 win over at Underhill against their Friendly friends, The Bees. I know this fixture doesn’t get much serious attention, but I was pretty excited to see the Arsenal back on the pitch. Withdrawal symptoms were beginning to set in.
Although most of the first team did not attend, some were on hand, such as Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy, Theo Walcott & Manuel Almunia. The rest of the ranks were filled with the kids, and a fine job they did, despite going into the locker room at the half down 1-0. But, in a fashion that seems to pervade even the younger ranks of Gunners, they came from behind to win it. Here we go again… I don’t know how many come-from-behind nail biters we endured last year, but I think it was somewhere around the same number of 22 from the year before. We certainly can’t complain for lack of excitement with this team, can we?
